About:
Tanja Gazibara is a Research
Coordinator for a NIMH-funded binge-eating disorder treatment study for
adult women at the University
of Chicago. In
addition, she coordinates a bulimia nervosa and depression treatment
study for adult women. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, in
psychology from DePauw University.
As an undergraduate, she completed a semester long internship at
Drexel University's
Anxiety Treatment and Research Program in Philadelphia, where
she contributed to psychotherapy outcome research on
Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for
adults with social anxiety. Prior to coming to the Eating
Disorders Program at University of Chicago, she
worked at La Rabida Children's Hospital as a Program/Research Assistant
for FitMatters, a childhood and adolescent long-term
multidisciplinary weight management program and for the Chicago Child
Trauma Center (CCTC). Her research interests include psychotherapy
outcomes, emotion regulation, co-morbidity, and acceptance-based
approaches to treatment. Her future endeavors include pursuing a
doctoral degree in clinical psychology.
